Starting a Fitness Routine at BPLA

We all know the importance of staying active and leading a healthy lifestyle, but actually starting a fitness routine can be intimidating and difficult. If you’re looking to get in shape and kickstart a fitness regimen, The Blueprint LA is here to help!

First and foremost, it’s important to figure out what type of exercise you’d like to do. You can choose from a variety of forms of physical activity like cardio, resistance training, and HIIT. The beauty of BPLA is that we offer all of it! Our program is designed for sustainable results and our staff is here to help you the entire way.

Next, you’ll want to think about what kind of support and guidance you’d like to have. The beauty of group classes with a double trained BPLA coach is that it’s helpful in staying motivated and on track.

Once you have a plan in place it’s time to get to work. Start slow and be gentle with yourself. Remember that there’s beauty in the process and you can find pride in the progress. 

Here at BPLA we recommend when you first start, aim for 3-4 days a week of a mix of our strength program, metabolic conditioning program as well as our blended classes. It helps to have a fitness tracker so you can monitor your progress and adjust your routine as needed- we highly suggest getting set up with a MyZone monitor. After a few weeks of sticking to it, you’ll likely find that your endurance, strength, and motivation have increased significantly. Here at BPLA we’re big fans of “hitting singles.” Don’t worry about how you will get through the next 6 months of training- focus on the next 30-90 days. If you can set quarterly goals there’s less of a chance that you will get overwhelmed by the process and that you will stick with the plan!

Lastly, it’s important to remember that when it comes to starting a fitness routine, consistency is key.
