How Proper Hydration Positively Impacts Training

Proper hydration is one of the most important elements to consider when it comes to working out or training. Hydration is essential in keeping your body running optimally and allowing you to push your physical limits without feeling fatigued. Proper hydration has many benefits for athletes, from improving performance and reducing fatigue to speeding up recovery and preventing injury.

One of the most important aspects of proper hydration is maintaining electrolyte balance. Electrolytes are essential minerals that your body needs to function properly. During exercise, electrolytes are lost in sweat and must be replaced to ensure that your body is functioning optimally. When you’re dehydrated, your body doesn’t have enough electrolytes to regulate body processes, including heart rate and blood pressure. Not only can this lead to fatigue and an inability to reach your performance goals, it can also be dangerous.

Proper hydration also helps to supply your body with the oxygen it needs to function during exercise. While proper hydration is always important this will be particularly important on BPLA metabolic conditioning days. From Turbo Tuesday, to Throwdown Thursdays the “all gas no breaks” mentality requires proper hydration. Additionally our hybrid classes such as Savage Saturday and Weekend Warriors will also require a good amount of hydration before and after training.
